In this powerful, vulnerable reflection, I share my journey through the early days of grief after sudden loss. From the inability to stop crying to the emotional numbness brought on by medication. I navigate grief and healing one painful day at a time.

I lost my husband to suicide—and with him, a part of myself. Here’s how I found purpose again, and how healing comes through what we do with time.

The day before my husband's funeral, I received a box from his workplace. What I found inside change how I faced my grief. It made me question corporate culture, the lack of empathy, and how common sense didn't fill the gap during the biggest tragedy of my life.

The first adventure after my husband's suicide was the hardest. How do you create a sense of 'normal' for your children when what's missing is their father? You start small. One step at a time. You choose to keep moving forward—to explore, to be present, and to make new memories together.

Proceeding weeks after my husband’s suicide I found solace reading books written by survivors. I was looking for answer on why commit suicide? What I found was strength was through other peoples' stories - I wasn't alone.
After losing my husband to suicide, I was left with grief, three small children, and a world that didn’t make sense anymore. This is the beginning of that journey—raw, painful, and real.
“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
― Winston S. Churchill
"Don't be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart."
One day you will ask me which is more important? My life or yours? I will say mine and you will walk away not knowing that you are my life.
